good video cards that will run on my power supply? Amps on 12v Rail are a bit low it seems

If you were unable to get either of those to work then any 760 or higher probably won't work. Sounds like the PSU is either junk or more likely those rails just aren't strong enough they way they are set up. I would get a new power supply if it is any good it should only have just one 12V rail instead of 5.

If you want you can post your CPU specs and I will recommend one.

Its an Alienware Area 51 x58 computer. Has I7 920 2.67 Ghz Processor, 6 Gb DDR3 1066 I beleive speed. 80 gb solid state and a 2 Tb regular Harddrive . Im running a gtx 295 but only 1 of the gpus is active. I would like to run a gtx 580.

I think the power supply is the reason one of the gtx 295 gpus is disabled.
