Crossfire Molex - ASRock 990FX Killer Fatal1ty

I recently purchased this motherboard with an FX-8350, and I noticed that crossfire is making my computer randomly reboot (not blue screen) while gaming. I know that it's crossfire because I lent my friend my second card when he came over, and it stopped doing it. I have an MSI R9-270X Hawk and an MSI R9-270X Gaming 2G.

So my question is, do I need to use the crossfire molex power connector when I have these two cards? My last board didn't have a crossfire molex, and crossfire worked fine.

I just read the entire (English section that is xD) manual, and I saw nothing about the molex other than where it's located on the motherboard. So I suppose I don't need it. Thank you for your help =]

On page 24 of the manual it states that if you run 2+ cards you should use the connector, I didn't plug mine in either. Not getting any BSOD's but I cannot overclock for toffee (8350 and 2x7870's) I'm thinking of taking the board back out and using it to see if it makes any difference.

Will do but I will not be doing until the weekend all PC'd out this week, so just going to kick back and use it normally until then will be able post back around Sunday.

Ok after having to modify a Molex connector and a frame in my case (ASROCK this connector is in a real horrible place or at least make the connector face upwards like a ram/pci-e slot for ease of access). This made no difference to anything on using the connector at all, on a side note it appears the cooler I bought is more suited to O/Cing an Intel than a 8350 (going to get a NH-D14 in time and leave my CPU at stock for now) using an Arctic Freezer 13, great for stock cooling but forget any O/C on the 8350. Not a great help to your BSOD issue though, sorry.
