So I've recently been building my first custom PC. I've carefully read all the manuals and done everything they said. But luck hasn't seemed to be on my side. First I used the wrong credit card and the payment didn't clear. Newegg didn't seem to think I ought to be informed of this though. Next I got a defective motherboard and I had to send it back and get a replacement. Well now I have again installed everything as I was told and this time when I switch on the PSU the LEDs briefly flash on then shut off. The LED on the GPU is the only one that actually stays on. I don't know weither this is a PSU problem or what but the Manuel doesn't seem to cover it. Specs Below.
btw I used a anti-static wrist strap. Help.

GPU: ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit
CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
HD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s
Memory: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
PSU: Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-750 750W Continuous @40°C
DVDROM: SAMSUNG DVD Burner SATA Model SH-224DB/BEBE - OEM

Make sure that you have made all of the motherboard power connections and that they are secure. Is your CPU power lead connected? Make sure that the front I/O connectors are correct and secure.

Make sure that the CPU fan is connected.

Make sure that the RAM sticks are in the correct slots.

If you have access to another working PSU, you can switch it out as a PSU test. You can measure the voltages using a multimeter. You can also borrow or purchase a PSU tester to check the PSU.

Well we're definitely getting somewhere. I had forgotten to use the CPU power Lead.
Okay... the fans and LEDs run for about 15 second and then stop?

Do you have a case speaker? Are there any beep codes?

I do not have a case speaker

Remove ALL expansion cards, all non-essential accessories. Insert one stick of RAM only. Attempt to boot using the onboard graphics. I don't know gigabyte boards, but you might need a PS/2 keyboard for initial setup instead of a USB. Press DEL upon startup and try to get into the BIOS.

Nope... same thing keeps happening. Fans and LED turns on 1 start up then after 1 second the first fan turns off then 10-15 seconds later everything turns off and then on again

btw I don't have another computer with a case speaker in it so I ordered one but won't be getting it for a while

Did you try removing the GPU and use the integrated GPU?

Without the case speaker, it is down to replacing parts. PSU, CPU, and motherboard are possible causes.

Or, take it to a computer repair shop.

I guess I'll just wait for the case speaker... I mean I've been trying to do this for 3 weeks, what's a few more days... ( I'll update the thread when a get the case speaker or find a solution, but I'll still take suggestions)

CPU or motherboard, got to be one of the two. Check for bent pins on the motherboard. I received a motherboard from Newegg one time that had bent pins straight out of the box.

The first thing I did was check for bent pins. That's what happened last time so that checked that immediately.

So I got the system speaker today :) . Anyway so the beep code is just high pitch repeating beeping noise. I looked It up and supposedly the CPU is overheating :??: . I have the fan installed properly to my knowledge though. The only thing I can think of is tat the thermal paste stuff that comes on the fan, originally got on the CPU the time I got a defective motherboard. Do I need to buy thermal paste and reapply it possibly?

When you power it up, count the specific beeps.

If it is just a repeating series of beeps, try reseating the RAM or changing slots.

It's not really a series of beeps. It's just the same, very short, high pitch beep repeating continuously until the fans shut down then it starts back up when the fans start again. It starts about 1-3 seconds after the fans start up. I tried removing the extra memory and GPU and it still processed.

Specifically re-seat the installed RAM (clean contacts and blow out slots) and reboot to check beeps.

Make sure that the RAM is in the correct recommended slots. If problem persists, try repositioning the RAM to the secondary slots (same colored slots).

Nothing. I tried all the RAM slots still doesn't work. Here's a video link. I recorded the beep codes in this. (Ignore my other videos...)

Have you changed from integrated to PCI Express x16 in your BIOS?

My BIOS hasn't been able to start up.
Btw I did remove the GPU just when the video was taken I still had it in. The beeping is the exact same though.

Can you stat up in safe mode? The beep code indicates a RAM error.

Replace the RAM.

Oh my god I finally got the BIOS working. After the tenth try of reinserting the memory I decided to try and blow on the port again. There must have been something in there blocking it from clicking in. Only one problem... I got it working breadboarding but I've tried interesting it 2 time into the case and both time I pt it in the case and it doesn't work. I take it out do the exact same thing and it does work. There were standoffs preinstalled in the case and no wires seem to be running under the motherboard.

How about RMAing the case and start over with new case (better quality or different manufacturer). It has caused you enough headaches.

I finally got it working! I decided before spending another $100 on a case just to try 1 more time. I went around with the wires differently this time and it finally worked! I think one of the wires that comes with the case must have been short-circuiting it. Well thank you so much for your help, I definitely couldn't have done without it :) .
