Hi guys I need some advice on what GPU setup to go with for gaming at 2560x1440.
The parts for my setup I have bought so far are as follows:
i5 4570K
Corsair Vengance (2x4GB) @1600mhz
Corsair TX750m
Anidees AI-6B
Corsair H100
These are the parts I have yet to buy for my setup:
MSI Z87-G45
X-STAR DP2710 27" (If you havent checked out these 1440p Korean monitors you totally should!)
GPU

I have been looking through benchmarks and on YouTube trying to find out which GPU would be best to match with this setup, I want to be able to play games maxed out at decent FPS so around 50+ FPS but I'm not sure what to go with really as I'm torn between the R9 290 and the R9 290x as im not sure if the price difference is worth the performance boost plus they pump out a good amount of heat and I would probably want to xFire eventually so games in the future are playable but I've heard a couple of times that xFire'ing isn't great compared to SLI, then there's the 780 TI which is pretty damn expensive! Which would mean I probably wouldn't be able to justify spending another £500+ to buy another eventually to SLI it! I would want to be able to record/stream if that would be possible. The games I would be playing would be Arma 2, Arma 3, Battlefield 4 and games like Watchdogs and other next-gen titles. What would you guys recommend? I could stretch to buy the 780 ti I just would want to know whether it would be worth it or not. I know this is a tall order asking to be able to play some pretty damn intense games maxed out at 1440p with decent FPS but from what I heard it is worth the price you pay for the experience.
Cheers Lewis

Even with a single GPU, if you aren't playing on Ultra, 50+ FPS is completely doable. I do not have any experience with the cards you mentioned, but you could likely run SLI 770s with your current setup and not have any issues.

I have a rig similar to yours, and run with SLI 780s on a 1440p monitor and get great FPS. If we're talking about BF4 specifically, I used to average ~115 FPS @ 1080p on Ultra 4x MSAA. I uninstalled BF4 before I got my 1440p, so I can't tell you what FPS I would get now. But for a single card solution, a GTX 780 would likely be able to run with 50+ FPS at 1440p. And it wouldn't have any heat issues you're worried about.
