Whats the best solution when it comes to the R9 290X series? The Tri-X from Sapphire or the Gigiabyte Windforce one?

You're not really going to find much difference between them all as they use the reference design. And minor changes you do come across would only be noticable if you're a Benchmark Ho. I myself have the XFX 290x Core Edition, and it's great.

But not reference coolers. I think the Sapphire is a bit better as far as temps and noise

Dunno. I've never used the stock cooler on a Video card since my AIW 9700. I've been watercooling since then. ;0)
