I just purchased a new HPEnvy with an Amd A 10 6700 processor, 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram and a 460w power supply. The downside is that it has Amd integrated graphics? I was wondering if I should get a graphics card or stay with the onboard stuff. I know in the past that onboard graphics are not real good. I was actually looking at the R7 240 and the hard to find 4g geforce gt460.

The APU graphics are a big improvement from early integrated graphics.
But if you want to play heavier games you should upgrade the GPU

It is about on par with a Radeon 6570

Thank you for your input. I went with the gt 640. I figured the APU graphics to be better than early integrated graphics but I also didnt want to lose ram if that's still the case with an onboard gpu. Thanks again.

The gt 640 is pretty much a sidegrade other than freeing up resources for the cpu. You would have gotten a much better boost out of a gtx 650 or gtx 750 for $100
