I currently have a HTPC with an Asus P8H61-I motherboard and an Asus Radeon HD 6570 video card.

It works fine, but it only has 2 USB 3.0 ports. I want to replace the motherboard with some other that supports 4 USB ports.

The socket is LGA1155, an Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz and the form factor is mini ITX.

So far, I have only found the Z77 chipset to support four or more USB 3.0 ports, and specifically the ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe, EVGA 111-IB-E692-KR and the ASRock Z77E-ITX.

But I was wondering if there is a cheaper and/or better option, at no more than 130 dollars.

THANKS!

This is very interesting, but regarding USB 3.0 it says:

- 2 x Rear USB 3.0 ports, support USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s
- 1 x Front USB 3.0 header (supports 2 USB 3.0 ports), supports USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s

Do you know what a FRONT USB 3.0 HEADER is?

Both GA-H77TN and GA-B75TN seem to have 4x USB 3.0 ports.

It's a 19-pin rectangular socket on the motherboard which allows you to connect the case front panel USB 3.0 ports to your motherboard. That's assuming your case has USB 3.0 ports on the front panel, the number of cases with front panel usb 3.0 ports is increasing but it's not universal. If your case does not have usb 3.0 front panel ports it might be worth checking out if there is an upgrade kit for it, when usb 3.0 came along some manufacturers released kits to upgrade the front panel usb ports to USB 3.0.
