I recently updated my old rig with a EVGA GTX 770 2gb Superclocked with ACX. After some thought, I decided to build a whole new rig. I bought the following:
Intel i7-4770k
ASUS Z87 PRO
Samsung 750gb SSD
Seagate 3TB HDD
Corsair H-100i
Corsair TX850M
Corsair Vengeance 16gb Ram
EVGA GTX 770 4gb Superclocked with ACX.
My plan was to step up the old 770 2gb to a 4gb model and then SLI both 4gb 770s, but I learned that you cannot step up to the 4gb model. I would have to step up to the 780 or higher. So I am not sure what would be the best thing to do now. Step up to the 780 3gb and return the new 770 4gb? SLI the 770s (2gb and 4gb), which I understand will lower the available vram to 2gb? Return the new 4gb and just go with the 2gb (I use only one 1080p monitor)? I use the computer to game primarily, and I store photos, music and movies on it. I need this build to last about 4 years, and I would like to play newer games on the highest settings for as long as possible. This is my second build, and I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance!
