I have an ASRock 990FX Killer motherboard and an FX-8350 cpu, and my corsair vengeance 1600mhz memory is reported in CPU-Z at only 667Mhz. I have it set to the 1600mhz profile in my bios. What could be causing this?

well, 667mhz is ddr3 1333, it would need to run at 800mhz to be running at ddr3 1600 speeds.

Two possibilities, one is hwmonitor has it wrong. The other is the ram runs at 1333 native, and that's the speed the profile works it at. In short the ram is slower ram that is sold as faster ram... in which case i expect the ram will work at the higher speeds, you just will need to input the timings by hand.

If it's not hwmonitor, then i suggest you change the ram from automatic to manual, and input the settings by hand. I'm sure it will work at those speeds. My Gskill ram is the same way. the profile is for 1333 ram... but it was marketed and sold as 1600. it works just fine at the advertised timings and settings, and as 1600 ram.
