My PC will not boot. I had the case opened and when I pressed the power button I saw a flicker of my blue LEDS and the fans would turn for half a sec and stay dormant again.. I know the power supply works because it is making my USB mouse glow.

I am guessing its a bad Motherboard? If it is I'll have to do it all over again. =(

if you saw a spark you had something either plugged in correctly, or had a bare wire touching something. sparks are bad. sounds like you fried at least one component in your system. It will be a trial and error, and just because it is powering your mouse does not mean it is not defective. the part that made the spark is likely dead, but the psu is likely also dead. sparks are such a bad sign, and honestly you may be SOL.

start with replacing the motherboard, but if that does not work, take it to a computer store so they can identify the problem so that you don't have to do a complete trial and error process in buying new parts to find out what is wrong

Actually it wasn't a spark. It was really just my graphic card flickering on really quickly on and turning off. When I press the power button everything is ON for a split second. Also what can cause the PC not to POST?

(Not sure why I used spark to describe a flicker of blue light =/)

have you plugged in the additional 8 pin connector at the top of the mobo (might not be a full 8 pin, but there is another connector other than the 24 pin to plug in.

also make sure cooler is properly installed and that the right amount of thermal paste has been applied

How do I know if its my PSU or my Mobo? I am sure the CPU is fine. I am starting to think my PSU is defective since when I try to power on my computer it does power on for a split second.

the only way to tell is to try another psu. hence why i suggest taking it to a computer store so that you don't have to take a chance buying all new parts (but since your psu is under warranty, send it back)

Should I try to hook the PSU up on to an old PC and see if it works? I have a garbage HP desktop PC from 2005 or older still using DDR 2

I think its the mobo thats broken. I just jump started the PSU and it was powering all my fans perfectly.

My problem is still the same. The whole PC powers up for a half second and stops. So I am not sure if its mobo or psu. I'll try some other stuff.

Well this is damned retarded. Atfer repluging and re-sitting everything in the computer.. it works.. I even loosed the mobo a bit. XD

You did say you had a hard time plugging in the cpu aux power. My friend once plugged it in wrong and almost fried the computer. That may be the problem.
