Im planning on buying a new PC build but its my first build and I have no clue what a wireless network adapter and/or a wired network adapter are for. I have wifi at home, (Arris router) if that helps. I don't have any ethernet ports in my house (only one but too far away from my room). So which do I get and what does each do? Do I need to adapter to connect to internet, even if I have wifi at home? Thanks!!

Solution
It depends on your motherboard, some have the wifi receiver built in, some don't. You would need some form of wirless network adapter to connect to your wifi either way. If you motherboard doesn't come with one, then buying a USB or PCI adapter would be needed to connect. The Wired adapters are built in to all motherboards pretty much, and you won't have to worry about that anyway if you have a wifi setup already :)

Well with computer parts, you tend to get what you pay for, but as far as budget parts go, Rosewill tends to do just fine :) You might not get the distance you would with a more expensive adapter, but if your PC is relatively close, within a room or next to it, you should be fine. Have fun with your new build! :-D

Thank you and yeah my router is literally on my computer desk xD. And I switched my mobo for a ASRock 970 Extreme3. It will still be compatable right?
