One More Stupid Fan Question

So my Mobo I will be getting only supports 2 fans, but I want to run more. Now I was thinking, do I even need the motherboard to run my fans? I understand if they have variable speeds and such that the mobo controls it, but if I just want to run my fan, can't I connect it to the 4 pin things straight from the PSU? I mean I did it with 1 fan just a few minutes ago, the computer doesnt even have a motherboard in it, so can I do it with multiple fans?

Solution
Yup, the four pin connectors are perfectly fine for fans. They'll run at max speed, though.

There's a whole bunch of different names for those connectors - Molex is kind of misleading, as they design practically all the connectors including the PCIe, ATX, EPS12V, and possibly a couple of others. Molex basically is the connector world.

Ok, thanks guys. The name just escaped me. Is it common to have large troubles getting it in? The 4 pins in the fan seemed to move independently, and it took like 10 minutes

Lol... it is for me. I hate those damn 4 pin Molex connectors they still put on PSUs. You'd think by now, the industry could have come up with a better connector for that class of connection.
