GTX 780 - OK to overclock and NOT increase voltage?

Odd question but I over clocked my stock GTX 780 to 175 (GPU clock) and 225 (mem clock) and NOT voltage increase and it's running well. Temps don't exceed 70, etc. Is there any issue with not increasing voltage as I'm very surprised it can over clock without doing so.

Solution
There is no issue in doing so. Increasing voltage helps to stabilize higher level overclocks, but produces more heat. The stock voltage is fine for mild OCs.

thanks I have noticed that after 2 or so hours of titan fall, a crash might happen and boot me back to the desktop. I've also noticed some dips in framerate during long sessions of gaming. Could that be related to voltage and if so, what is the smallest amount I should increase?

Increase voltage as much as you want, its capped in the BIOS so it will ignore you after 1.2V anyway.

Best way to overclock the card is to get rid of all the stupid restrictions. Set the temperature target to 96C and prioritize, set the power limit and voltage as high as they will go, and see how much you can overclock. Just remember to make a custom fan profile too keep temperatures in check because 96C is too hot, really you want temps to be under 90C.

I have been monitoring heat and it never goes above 70 which is pretty good. I think it's the game and not my card as it only happens seldomly.

All good answers guys thanks
