z87 extreme6 crossfire power header

Doing a new build on the cheap. On alot of pictures of the z87 extreme6 I've looked at the crossfire power connector is facing up but on the one i have it's on it's side making it totally inaccessible in the mid tower case I've got. Running twin 7850's that are mains powered anyway, so do you have to have the extra power connected?

I wouldn't be worried. There are a lot of boards out there that don't have this feature and are able to run dual graphics. Maybe if you were triple crossfiring 290x's that you would want more power from the pcie lanes.
