Hello everyone,
First let me explain my background story etc, to make some things clear.
I moved 3 years ago from 1 country to another country. Back in my home country I had a very heavy loaded gaming desktop, custom build all done by myself.
I am a professional hardware specialist. I worked back in my home country for 11 years as hardware specialist.
My old system (back in my home country) specs:
Asus P6T-SE (X58 Intel chipset)
12Gb RAM DDR3 1333Mhz (oc'ed to 1600Mhz)
Intel i7 975 (oc'ed to 4.5Ghz)
2x AMD Ati 6990 in crossfireX
1x SSD, 4x 1tb HDD 7200rpm
42 Inch LCD screen attached to watch movies
26 Inch Samsung LCD 2ms for gaming
Antec 850W PSU
Antec 1050b (modified), with 12 case coolers installed
Windows 7 64bits Ultimate
Now my questions:
1.) What is the best motherboard to get for gaming these days, I did a small research I see the Asus Sabretooth Z87, and the Asus Maximum VI Formula scoring very good. I always used Asus motherboards and I am happy with the performance / quality. So what is the best motherboard now (March 2014)?
2.) I want to buy an Intel processor. AMD is good in money/performance wise, but Intel is still the better one in performance tho. So I was looking into the Intel i7 4th Gen processors.
Which is the best, I know the fastest processor of Intel is also always a lot more expensive then let's say 2 steps down, and performance wise the difference is minimal. So which one do you guys suggest
a.) Intel® Core™ i7-4860HQ
b.) Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ
c.) Intel® Core™ i7-4910MQ
3.) For graphics cards, I used both Nvidia and AMD cards, so I have no favorite here. I don't want to use an SLI / Crossfire setup anymore. I noticed 3 years back the support towards SLI/Crossfire was terrible. Most games didn't support this, and even now in 2014 many many many games still don't support it.
So I decided to go for 1 single card. Any good suggestions?
