To my knowledge you cant download something from the Playstation Store and then "mount" it in your PS3, you have to download the game through the Store on the PS3.

Depends, is it a ps3 versoin game? if so yes it could, but don't you're not supporting the developers and it's illegal. If it's a pc version game you can't, it will say an error of the coding as it will be coded for pc.

It is possible to download PS3 games to a PC (illegally I might add), it just wont run on your machine (natively, need emulators) because exactly that, different architectures. I'v downloaded Android applications to my computer and just moved the file to my phone before, its the same concept that he is asking about here.
