Yesterday, I found a monitor at Good Will for $25. I know getting electronics from Good Will is stupid, but they have been good to me. I got a $60 printer for $5 at Good Will. Back to the point.

Here are the specs of the monitor

And its in good condition. No problems so far. No scratches that I can see. To me, this is a good deal for $25. And I think this would fit well with my Radeon HD 7790. But, do you think it would be worth it to get a better 1080p monitor for like $80 more? Like is it going to look that much better? And I know my CPU is probably going to bottleneck since its a i5 dual core. How much FPS do you think I would lose?

Here's the 1080p monitor that I have been looking at.

that monitor you got is a good deal i woulda talked them down to 20 dollars tho hehe. now in terms of upgrading it really does depend on what you want. you have a fairly recent graphics card that is capable of 1920x1080 resoultion at about medium settings for most of the latest games. now when upgrading a monitor remember it's an investment you will be keeping for a number of years through several computer upgrades. so if your gonna upgrade i recommend a 24" monitor at 1080p with at least 1 hdmi connection. and make it a worthwhile investment

this is a good monitor and the rebate knocks it down to like 130 bucks.

in terms of game quality image i'm not gonna say it's...

Honestly its all up to you. 1080p will look better but is it $100 more better? I would probably keep the good will monitor for a year or two since you never know what technology is going to come out next but there are alot of people who woudn't like the lower resolution.

Basically, give it a try and if you feel it looks good, keep it. If it looks bad to you, then go out and grab a new one.

in terms of game quality image i'm not gonna say it's gonna look better per se but it'll be a LOT more screen real estate. i really enjoy gaming on a 24" monitor at 1080p settings with my hd 6770.
there is nothing wrong with the monitor you got for 25 bucks but if your gonna upgrade make it a bigger jump than 2 inches of screen real estate, that's not worth it. go for the 24" with 3ms or under response time. and just use the current monitor until you feel the need for more screen.

how much fps would you lose? eh...quite a few but you'll be gaming aroudn 30 40 frames ish on 1080p and that's pretty good. then after you get the monitor even consider getting a 750ti for 150 bucks to go with that nice 24" gaming monitor

enough blabbing all and all it'll be a good upgrade to go to a 24" and your eyes will thank you, but there is nothing wrong with your current monitor if you are satisfied with it. that's the key
