(includes some slow motion) can I use different settings other than the default to make the file smaller...at least down to 4.450 so I can fit it on a DVD DL. Obviously I don't want to lose quality so I would rather make a different file to view on my wide screen TV than shrink the avi file.

The only way you can create a smaller file of the same footage is by raising the level of video compression in Studio, and that will reduce the quality.

Thanks for that Phillip. Which is the setting in Studio that will do that?

If you are creating a DVD and not copying the file to a DVD then you should have no problem getting it to fit on a DVD. When you use the DVD creation feature it will convert the video into a format compatible with a DVD player. This compresses the AVI file using MPEG-2 I believe. DVDs have their own unique file structure. This link - http://club.myce.com/f62/tutorial-dvd-video-file-struct... - may explain it a little bit better than I can. In short, you really don't need to compress the file if you are using the DVD creation function of the software.

Hi kenrivers
I am using the DVD creation function of Studio so I'm afraid this does not help.

Have you tried converting the files to MPEG-2 DVD, starting a new project, importing those files and then creating a DVD? If not, covert the files and see if you notice a difference in the file size between MPEG-2 and AVI.
