Hi! My friend have a laptop and he is building a new PC and he is wondering if you can take a laptop hard drive and plug it in to a desktop PC?

Hard drive: Seagate Momentus 5400.6 ST9500325AS

And what is the diffrents between this and a new one like:

WD Green WD10EZRX 64MB 1TB

It probably isn't as fast but you can connect it presuming it's a SATA HDD not a PATA HDD, the difference is the size physically and how much it can hold, the RPM (how fast it can read/write) for a gaming build I recommend a WD Black, you will get much more performance, a WD Green is an eco drive, only runs when it's being used and has to shut down and boot up repeatedly.

The WD green is a 7200RPM drive whereas his is a 5400RPM drive, it's not as fast and don't hold as much.
