I am having a hard time looking for the right monitor that I want. My original wants in a monitor were one that is 1920x1080p, 60hz, 20-24 inches, IPS, response time of 1-5 ms, and built in speakers. I was originally looking into a glossy monitor but after staring at them for a while they tend to give me headaches but it also seems worth it for the amount of color depth and richness compared to matte screens. I have noticed that I can find all of my wants as long as I take out the built in speakers that I want. The main reason I wanted built in speakers is so that they wouldn't clutter my desk space and I absolutely hate having to reach to the speakers and adjust the knobs every time something is to quite or loud (it is very irritating) and it saves space and looks neater having them built in instead of just sitting on the desk taking up room. So my main two questions are 1. Should I look into a monitor without speakers? and 2. If you could help me look into one that fits the prerequisites above.

Bare in mind that built-in speakers are not very good sounding at all. Also, you complain about having to adjust the volume knob on regular speakers when something is loud....what do you plan to do when the same thing happens with the built in speakers? (Sure, your keyboard might have volume buttons and you can adjust the desktop setting - but if knobs bother you that much, you can do that with regular speakers as well.)

I've never considered built-in speakers to be a value-add. Sure, I've had monitors with them, but they've never been the reason I bought that monitor. If freed up desk space is more important to you that image quality on the monitor, then go for it - but I'd think you'd prefer to have the monitor with all of your...

Pro-Tip: If sound is needed but not at important, just leave a set of earbuds plugged in for when needed, or get a cheap, light-weight set of speakers and use double-sided modding tape to stick them to the back of your monitor out of the way.
