I would go with the Acer because of the contrast ratios. The Acer is 100000000:1 contrast, while the BenQ is only 1000:1.

That's actually kind of misleading information they put on the specs, they're actually like the same contrast ratio, just the standard for saying your contrast ratio isnt set.
Like if you see neweggs post for the acer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... it actually has both the numbers.

Those are both the same like James Mason said, lol. It's kind of a marketing strategy.

If they both have the same contrast ratio, then which one is the best?

These are the best. :)

They are IPS models.

Why is the contrast ratio a lie? Basically, they are able to make up that contrast ratio because the monitor changes brightness based on how much of the screen contains dark objects or light objects. So, when you have lots of dark objects on screen, the monitor dims the entire screen (the backlight). When you are looking at bright things, the monitor turns up the brightness. (This is called "dynamic contrast" and is usually how they get the fake numbers.) This is generally a bad idea for computer monitors, because your light levels are constantly changing on you (greyscale shades are never the same level).
I could also add that most specs on a monitor are flat out lies (like the response time and viewing angles), and mostly useless in making a decision.

Here are a few features you can rely on to help you decide:
* Panel type: TN, IPS, PLS, MVA (IPS and PLS are best; MVA is midway; TN is the worst and most common; if the monitor doesn't say it's probably TN)
* Size
* Resolution 1920x1080 is common, but there's some nicer ones with mover vertical space like 1920x1200
* matte or glossy screen (scatters light vs highly reflective screen)
* lightboost or similar CRT-like strobing/flicker that gets rid of motion blurring
* G-sync that adds variable framerates
* Various eyestrain reducing features
