Yes my computer restarts when im playing games this is any games really annoying. Temps reach CPU max 50s GPU max 60's. Dont think its overheating. Have reinstalld windows and drivers about 4 times now so must be hardware.

Specs:
Motherboard ASUS M5A78L
CPU: AMD FX 4 Core 3.4 Ghz
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7870
Fan cooling
1 terabite Memory
Ram 8gb
PSU: XFX Pro 650w

Thats all I know of the top of my head. Please help its only new and pissing me of as I cant play games. Ran a Burn in test for 2 and a bit hours came up with no Errors except 3D and 2D test interrupted but they started again

Then I'm afraid you're down to a failing MB.

Restarts are commonly caused by a failing, too small, cheap PSU. In your case, the first one would be the only reason the PSU was the fault. Try running Memtest on each stick of memory individually in the first memory slot for at least one FULL pass. That will eliminate memory as the problem.

Do you have another card you can test with?

I have also ran many tests at the same time which would pull enough power if the PSU was the problem would crash the PC but tommorow I will be fitting a spare GPU to see if its the Card .

Man, I wish I could be more sure. The XFX PSU is a good one, not prone to failing. But I guess it could happen. And that is a symptom of a PSU problem.
A poster above offered a suggestion you could try. But you'd have to be able to disable the cores one by one to test it. Some BIOSs don't allow you to pick and choose which cores to disable.
Have you been O/C'ing your processor any? Raising the vCore voltage?

I was playing around with the voltage to see if it would fix the problem but before the restarts started happening no it has been like this ever since I bought it. And after the crahses started to occur I have tried underclocking it aswell but that hasnt worked either. You see if it was a PSU issue well why doesnt it crash on a software like burn in test

Turns out there wasnt alot of thermal paste on the CPU so that fixed one issue but the restart problem still around. Now it restarts in Company of heroes in a shorter time then GTA 4 any ideas ?

What was the problem that the TIM replacement fixed? You said the temps were CPU/50C-ish max. That's great temps.
But the constant shutdowns is a puzzle. If you had this with both PSUs, that would leave just the MB as the culprit. I suppose it is possible to have a bad CPU, but it is extremely rare if this is a new CPU and not a second hand one.

Could I swap out the Mb with another PC's MB and if so how would I go about it. Also ran Burn in test and furmark together didnt seem to cause any problem brought GPU temp up high but I dont think thats an issue. Also my screen freezes and a sound loop occurs quite often now

Let's see. You've ran CCleaner and did the Clean and Registry both, right? You did a memory check with memtest on each stick individually, right? Have you run a FULL virus scan, followed by a FULL Malwarebytes scan? Be sure to update your virus signatures first.

Before jumping to replace the MB, take the time to do a couple hours of Prime95 and see if it is stable.

If you really want to stress your CPU and its supporting system, run Intel Burn Test for the default 10 pass run. It only takes a few minutes, unlike prime95. I use it on both Intel and AMD processors for checking OC stability. But be sure to monitor the temps while it runs. If it returns a 'success' result, the CPU and the chipset should be OK.

Bump the stress up from standard to high and run again. (be sure to stop it if it reaches severe temps for more than a brief moment.) if it passes, I would feel confident that the CPU is fine. In fact, the chipset and supporting components on the MB would be fine as well.

Btw, which FX 4 core do you have?

it only restarts while playing games? I had the exact same problem a while back. it may be the psu. and it's most likely caused by the 12v rail. t. 12v rail is the one that provides the power to the gpu. so when u run games, the power demands from the 12v rail increases, and in lesser PSUs, this would cause voltage fluctuation. your 12v rail probably dips to 11v or maybe even 10+v which would cause the pc to restart. to confirm this, use a software to monitor the voltage and to confirm it, check the 12v rail using a multimeter. hope it helps :)
