Howdy Folks,

I'm looking for some advice on a problem I am having with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and the RAID controller of this motherboard. I've got 1x Corsair GS CSSD-F128GBGS-BK and 4x Western Digital RE4 WD5003ABYX installed, and my goal was to install the OS to the Corsair and then use the Western Digitals in a RAID 5.

The issue I'm running across is that Windows refuses to install to the volume (even though it can detect it) when the controller is in RAID mode. Here is a list of solutions I've tried so far:

-Provide Windows the RAID drivers from the manufacturer's CD during installation
-Provide Windows the RAID drivers from the internet during installation
-Install Windows while the controller is in AHCI mode, running the manufacturer's driver CD and then changing the controller to RAID mode
-Plugging the Corsair in to the grey SATA ports on the bottom of the bank. I assumed they were the ones for the Marvell controller, however the Corsair still shows in the Intel controller configuration screen and installs/doesn't install Windows in a pattern consistent with the mode of the Intel controller.

Could anyone shed some light on exactly what's going on here?

Thank you,

The problem maybe you use the " UEFI RAID Configuration " because here is from the manual-- This mode supports Windows 8 64-bit installation only. page 65.

You need to install the SSD into the SATAIII_0 ( black) and other HDD into the intel SATAIII ports because the Marvell chipset does not support the raid5 it only supports raid0 or raid1. If you have the DVD drive you can use the GSATA3_6 or 7 ( grey), and make sure you install the Marvell SATA Controller Driver too.

You use the win7 so try to use the Legacy RAID, check the manual, page 69. Also follow the step from the manual ( page 80) section " Installing the SATA RAID/AHCI Driver and Operating System ".
