I dont know much about PSU's at all but i ordered a pre built computer with an i5-4670k and a gtx 770 along with a standard 600 PSU. so literally everyone told me I picked a crappy power supply. The watts was fine, but the quality was doo doo is what I heard. So I quickly contacted cyber Power and asked for their opinion. They didn't help at all, and they didn't seem to care. So I asked around and I ended up going with a few watts more to give me that extra breathing room. I also upgraded to a name brand. I went with a 650 Watts - Thermaltake SMART Series SP-650PCBUS 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply. Is this a good power supply? Should this be good and perhaps future proof for future single GPU upgrades? Hows the brand and quality?

Yeah that should be a decent enough PSU. Maybe next time you will skip cyber power and put it together yourself, always best to know that you personally chose every piece.

Thermaltake is hit or miss. For it to be 80+ Bronze means it most likely doesn't suck (there are exceptions, like the Cooler Master GX series), and was tested at 100% of its label (although at only 23C). While I'm certain you could have done better (e.g. by getting Seasonic or anything they build), I'm equally certain that what you got is much better than the default from CyberPower

It's ok, but most would recommend Seasonic, Cosair or even Silverstone.

You will be ok if you already have it, if not go for Seasonic, they never seem to get a bad wrap.

There are better Seasonics but you will pay about 25-40% more
