i want to add a windows Client to domain everything(DNS IP) is given correct but i couldn't add to domain later my senior just changed the work group name and after restarting added it to domain it is successfully added when i asked him he said he too don't know the reason

can anyone guide me why and how it happened and is it correct way to do?

Just change the client's network adapter DNS IP address to your local Active Directory/Domain Controlller's DNS server address. Then just Right-click "My Computer" and select Computer Name then click Change. Type in the domain name and you will be prompted for Domain Admin credentials. Enter the username and password and click OK. Reboot and then you will be ready to login in to the domain if you have already created the Domain user account on your AD/DC.

I remember having a lot of trouble trying to add Windows 7 clients into a Server 2003 AD/DC. You might need to run Server 2008 in order to add Windows 7/8 clients.

bro,

i have already done those things but instead of asking login credentials it is showing error (domain cannot be found)
then my boss just changed its work group name( from "work group" to some "abc") and after restarting the pc he added it to the domain it asked for credentials and then added into domain how this happened
