bought a zalman cool for the prosessor the new one is 3-pin as the old one four-pin motherbord is four.

Question How do you conect 3-pin to 4pin?

Solution
You should be able to just plug n play with it! first pin is ground, second is voltage, third is the speedometer (tachometric signal) and fourth PWM control. You can plug three pinned fan to four pin slot, you just cant adjust the speed.
