I'm planning to build a high end gaming computer, I'll list the specs down below, and I don't know whether to get the ax860i, rm850, or ax860. I heard the ax860 has coil whine but is made by seasonic. I also heard the ax860i has a cheap fan. I also heard the rm850 isn't meant for high end computers. I want a quiet power supply that delivers really good performance, so help me choose the right one. I also want to do some overclocking with the cpu and maybe the gpu.

Specs:
CPU: i7 4770k
GPU: Evga gtx 780 ti Superclocked
Motherboard: asus maximus VI Formula
Fans: 6 Corsair sp120, 3 corsair sp140
Case: Corsair 750d
CPU Cooler: H105
RAM: 16GB corsair vengeance pro 1866mhz
Storage: 250GB samsung 840 evo, 2tb seagate Hybrid drive.

Thanks in advance :D

you have heard specialized cases for all of them. if they are listed as corsair, they are made by corsair. the RM 850 is the cheapest of them, but is still considered a very high quality psu and would have no problem running even 2 780ti. the AX series and the axi only differ in their generational compatibilities and certain power saving functions, as well as just slightly updated components in the 860i (also monitoring software with corsair link)

If you had to choose between the three, i'd still say go for the RM, as it is the cheapest, but still a higher end psu. they are all quiet, and won't be heard over the other fans in your system

What would be the best if that $30-50 difference isn't a problem?

if the difference isnt a problem then the 860i is the best of them, but the only real benefit if corsair link, which personally i dont use, so i'd recommend the ax860 due to is being just as good but cheaper. coil whine is an isolated thing, and if yours has it, you can always return it

Alright, thanks :)  I'll probably go with the ax860i because I really don't wanna end up with coil whine and more people recommend it

the rm series is made with cheaper capacitors too, and it used to have thermal issues with shutting down. id go with the ax860i. also, if xfx or seasonic is an option those are gret psus too

One thing to add before you do; I believe the AX860i is manufactured by Flextronics (of less quality than SeaSonic), and the AX860 (which I have) is made by SeaSonic.

Originally, I did have some coil whine with my PSU, but it went away fairly quickly. There's no more coil whine, whether it be during gaming, or benchmarking.
