Just built a new gaming pc and I can't get it to beep or display. All the fans spin up (case fans, video card fans, cpu fan, etc.) lights on the motherboard come on as well. I'm hooking it up via HDMI to my Samsung flat screen tv. I'm sure the problem is right in front of me, or at least i hope it is. I really don't want something to be dead and have to deal with that. Any ideas?

Try DVI or VGA on another monitor, also take the card out and try the onboard.

You may have to jump off your motherboard. I had a friend with the same issue, and he had to jump off his motherboard via two jumper pins on the motherboard. What type of motherboard do you have?

you may need to update the bios before that cpu will work.

I also just realized the ports on my motherboard are not working, because i have my mouse and keyboard hooked up to them, and they're not powered on. Soooo.... what does that mean?

Try pulling the RAM out and start with just one stick in and see if it will POST. Worst case, pull the CPU, make sure it none of the pins are bent.

Reset the cmos, no go. I'm pretty certain all the connections are fine, but like i said It's probably something dumb that I connected wrong or didn't connect. This is my first time building a pc. Hmmm...

unplug everything, all the psu cables out of the mobo. unplug the little led power cord that runs to and from your case to your mobo, where the power button is. put in cpu, put in 1 stick of ram, dont connect any hard driver or optical drives, have this outside your case, plug the cable from your power button into the mobo, plug the psu into the mobo and cpu, and try that. if that doesnt work, then it is probly either a dead mobo or a dead psu. if any light come on or any fans or you hear any beeps, then the psu should be ok.
