Crossfire R9 290 vs 1 780 ti

I'm planning on building a high end pc, but I don't know which one will deliver better performance for 1440p gaming. Help me choose!

Specs:

CPU: i7 4770k
Motherboard: Asus maximus VI formula
Fans: Corsair sp120 x 6 corsair sp140 x 3
Ram: 16gb Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866mhz
Storage: 250gb samsung 840 evo, 2tb seagate sshd
Cpu cooler: H105

The R9-290 with a small o/c (1050MHz) performs similarly to the 780ti and better in some AMD optimised games. Where I am it costs $530 vs $900 for the ti. BF4 fills 3GB Vram on 3 monitors, so 4GB is useful down the line. Personally I went for the R9, better value and with a decent cooler like the Tri-x, heat isn't a problem at all. 70C max gaming.
