Dual monitor set-up run from on-board graphics and 7970, possible?

So here is what I am attempting to achieve.

Being able to run one monitor out of my GPUs hdmi port and using that to play games and etc on (7970 gigabyte ghz edition) whilst using the on-board graphics that I5 4670k provides to run a different monitor for browsing the web and watching videos etc.

Using the Asus Z87- pro board.

Sounds like it should work out fine as long as thats not SLS.
