So i just invested in a second 7770 amd GFX card and i have them in with crossfire bridge conecting them. Both cards boot and the fans turn on from the off after a few minute and i type in my password the other card will appear to be on ? Only one fan will be on and the other working fine ? Can someone help or give some advise please.

My Setup:
NZXT Phantom 410
AMD 6300-fx 3.5
2 x 7770 1gb
2 x 4gb Corsair Vengeance
Vista Ultimate (yeah i know)
500w cool x stream psu
500 gb hdd
160 gb hdd
and a gigabyte motherboard also brand new?

Painfully, you'd need to know what drivers and software are associated with the old motherboard. Find the manufacturer's support site and see the associated drivers/software with your old motherboard. Device Manager might have some errors for devices displayed in it.

To see drivers and software installed : Control Panel > Programs and Features
To get a list of drivers installed on your PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RP2wFhn0xg

All I can say is good luck. Lots of leg work. Typically why it's suggested to do a fresh install. I've actually never been in your shoes. Sorry bud.

Well it says that I have duel +12v rails so I can't seem to find it ... (I'm not very good at this sort of thing so I apologise) but does 5 A sound normal because I looked it up and some where it said max output 5Amps ? Is that of use to you ?

I'm guessing the PSU label is this one?

The two +12 have a combined draw of 37A (444/12=37). Each 7770 has a TDP of 80w which is 6.7A or 13.4A roughly combined. The 6300 FX has a draw of 95w or roughly 8A. So you're looking around about 22A (add a few extra due to heat and higher clock).

Mathematically, it will work. As for quality it's OK. Hardware secrets have a few gripes but nothing particularly major. The PSU may not start if fully loaded down. The only down side is it only comes with one PCIe x6 connection. So you'll have to buy an adapter and mooch off other connections to power the other 7770.

Well yes. AMD suggests a 600W or greater PSU for CF. But it's completely possible to do it with less than suggested. Even if the each GPU and CPU pulled 10A, there's still some space before the PSU craps out. But it doesn't have the best efficiency.

Lol. It is very necessary. Personally, I've always felt that a complete re-install of windows is easier and better than removing all the drivers when replacing a motherboard.
