Eye tracking + the Peregrine glove for mouse free navigation. Good idea?

Hi there all computer freaks,
I've been programming since the age of 8, and I've always felt a bit crippled by constantly moving my hand back and forth from the keyboard to the mouse. Now I've put together a small proof-of-concept that uses eye tracking and the Peregrine glove to solve that problem, and I'm sort of liking it.

The question to you all now is - does anyone share my dislike for the mouse, and would you consider using a setup like this?

I've made a short video here to give you an idea of what it's like.

I'm grateful for all tips and feedback I can get!

Thank you Ubrales,
the costs are quite high compared to a mouse, but if you're a professional, it could certainly be worth it. The price for the Tobii EyeX is currently 99$ (get them while you can!) and the Peregrine glove is 149$.

And no - no long time data for Carpel Tunnel syndrome, but I would imagine that the stress would be about the same as for a mouse, or do you think differently?

$99 and $140 are very reasonable prices; I expected them to be in the four-figure range. That's why I asked the question.

I am very aware of Carpal Tunnel because I got it twice; the first was from pounding nails for 8 hours while building my deck. Extremely extremely painful and a 12-month recovery time. Normal shaking hands was extremely painful. Currently I use my mouse ($55 Logitech) and keyboard for about 4 to 8 hours daily and so far I have not experienced any detrimental effects. Hence my concern for changing over to a new system.

Yeah, that sounds painful Ubrales! I actually had it myself a couple of years back, even though I think it was weight lifting related rather than keyboard related. I\m also spending 8- hours a day at the keyboard, and I just feel that the mouse is slow, and constantly moving my hand between the keyboard and the mouse is just a nuisance. Do you agree on that, or don't you feel the mouse somehow slowing you down? And don't get me wrong - I'm a power user when it comes to the mouse and extremely accurate, so it's not that it is a problem or anything. Just feels old :)
