Would this stay stable at 3.8GHz? Any advice on overclocking? I'm trying to keep my computer as quiet and stable as possible.

4670K + ASRock Z87 Extreme4 with everything on Auto and default settings it showed Vcore at 1.012 in my BIOS. So I did a minor overclock with that Vcore.

CPU Ratio 38
CPU Cache Ratio 36
CPU Vcore Voltage Override 1.012
CPU Vcore Voltage Offset 0.001
CPU Cache Voltage Auto
CPU Input Voltage Auto

So I tried 4GHz at 1.020 and it crashed in IntelBurnTest. So I did a safe bump of 0.05 on the Vcore to 1.062 and did some more tweaking. Does this look correct or should I change some values?

CPU Ratio 40
CPU Cache Ratio 36
CPU Vcore Voltage Override 1.062
CPU Vcore Voltage Offset 0.001
CPU Cache Voltage Override 1.19
CPU Cache Voltage Offset 0.001
CPU Input Voltage Fixed 1.85

Stock/Auto
CPU Vcore Voltage 1.012
CPU Input Voltage 1.760

4GHz/Auto
CPU Vcore Voltage 1.199
CPU Input Voltage 1.776

The ASRock Z87 Extreme4 motherboard only shows those voltages and PSU voltages.

I have the same chip (bought a month ago from MicroCenter). It's a complete dud.

Holy crap, 1.400 V? That's nuts.

The OP has a great chip. Getting those kinds of temps at 3.8 Ghz. on the stock cooler is simply amazing. I was bouncing off the thermal limit with mine. I say keep going. My overclock is based on a 95°C max under fully stressed conditions, ~10 mins, which is a comfortable (for me) 10°C below the thermal throttle limit.

The noise level has more to do with the type and number of fans you have, the quality of your cooler and its fans, etc. Overclocking won't do much other than give those fans some heat to push out of your case.

Mine is delid/lapped/liquid pro'd. Getting excellent temps, but hit voltage wall. Max temp 74C at 1.45v Lol.
