Hello All,
I have been wondering about the GTX 760 and the GTX 770. I am unsure of which to buy, and whether to buy the 4GB version or 2GB version of each from MSI. I would like to be running modern games on high/ultra (preferably ultra). Also, I would like to be able to record quick videos of games (90 seconds at a time) on medium graphics or higher. Is there another graphics card that is a compromise between the two? Or is one of these graphics cards better suited to this task than the other. I am looking to spend AT MOST $300, but I understand that I may need to go over. If It is necessary to purchase a video card which is more expensive, I will do it. Preferably, the video card would have SLI or CrossFire capabilities.
Here are the specs of my current build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/39npY
Please note that the GTX 770 is already in the build.
Thank you all for your time.

I heard sli 760 performs equal to if not better than a 780 but if you don't plan to sli i recommend the 770.
Also the heat sink comes with its own thermal compound.

You could easily cut the processor and motherboard to something cheaper if gaming is a focus, i7's don't help at all. Dropping to a 4670K would save you $100, and you could use an Asrock Extreme 4 Z87 to save another $50. The motherboard 'downgrade' will affect nothing (assuming it still has all the ports and such for whatever peripherals you plan to use), and if you are solely gaming theres no reason to have the 4770K.

With that cash you could get a 780. Anyway Shadowplay will make it easy to record as theres no performance drop. If that doesn't work out, the 760 offers quite a bit better performance for the money as its alot cheaper but only about 25% slower. Either way just get the 2GB version, unless you plan to SLI them and play at a huge resolution it makes no difference.

Well the 770 is basically a more modernized 680 and it works very well. As far as what is in between that a 670 and 680 fall between those two cards. One suggestion would be to drop the thermal paste you're buying because the stuff that comes preinstalled on the cooler you're getting will do just as good unless you want to get some arctic silver 5 or mx4 which are slightly cheaper I think. Also if you're looking to do SLI your power supply probably won't handle it so you might want to up that to at least about 700w if that's your intent.

the 4gb version is only valid if you use 1440p+ resolution or triple monitor setup or high amounts of game mods

and the 770 is in a different class it has around 20-25% more performance in most games
here is a link that shows the performance between the 2 models
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_760/9.html

the 770 should max all games at 1080p however you have to think to that games are only going to become more taxing on gpus so i would go with the 770 and you dont need 4gb vram if you are only playing at 1080p

So them, shoild I just buy a GTX 680 as it is cheaper and comparable to the GTX770? Or should I be looking at a different graphics card. I would not like to change my motherboard or my processor.
