I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate, 64b on my HP 2000-2d27cl. Previous to switching the OS, i downloaded all drivers from HP for Win 7.

Upon Win7 install finishing, the following were missing drivers:
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
SM Bus Controller

I popped my burned driver disc in and went through the entire file list, forwards and backwards. No change, none of the drivers had any effect!

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

EDIT:: I found a solution, posted it below!

Solution
It would seem that the HP site has inadequate files for the listed drivers. For those reading this looking for answers, here's the long way:

In Device Manager, select the problem device. Right Click > Properties > Details > Under the "Property" drop down, select "Hardware Ids"

Should see a list containing strings like
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&SUBSYS_2128103C&REV_3A
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&SUBSYS_2128103C
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&CC_0C0500
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&CC_0C05

In this example, "1022 780B" is the pair you're looking for. Punch them into google and let the detective work begin. Deduce the manufacturer and model number, then head directly to the manufacturer site for a download. This can be arduous but keep digging and you'll find it...

Sadly, I tried that already with no success. I threw them on a usb stick and tried from there as well, nothing. That's what is so weird, I've never had a problem like this.

Anything else I can try? It's Windows 7 Ultimate, if that matters.
