So i built a nice cheap computer for my girlfriend's dad for his office, it works great, but I can't connect to the internet. I have a Rosewill RNX-N250PCe for wireless since wired isn't an option. It is plugged in properly and working, it even says I hav einternet access, but I can't get online even though it says that. It connects fine with wired when I brought it upstairs. There's no antivirus on it yet either. Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks!

Also I just tried using the disc it came with again. The program says that it installed but Windows is telling me it didn't install properly, how can I fix this?

"Media disconnected"

It's not connected right now.

You are plugged into the network and into the wireless, you can't use both. Disconnect the network cable, and reattempt to connect via the Wifi

If the Wifi is connected and you are getting no internet, than re run ipconfig /all and post the results.

You may need to go to the bottom right, right click on the network icon...
with a new pc build make sure the motherboard bios is updated to rule out a bios bug and the intel or amd chipset drivers are installed on the newer x77 and x87 chipset intel mei drivers need to be installed. if the drivers on the cd dont work try the chipset drivers from here.

there the chipset on the card. also with new install if windows you may have ot hard wire it and if it xp or windows 7 make sure all the .net updates are installed. to debug wifi issues does the card see ssid of the local wifi near the pc.
if it does have dad log into the wifi router turn off wep/wpa and make sure the router set to both b/g and n. check dad router make sure it has the newest firmware to rule out a firmware bug. most wifi depending if the building has lots of metal and older tube lighting the 2.4g wifi signal may be blocked or short range. if that the case he may need to use power over ethernet or put in a ap spot for where he working. most of the newer ap if the signal is good will just repeat it.
