Connecting to work VPN

At my work we connect through the internet through our work server, we have no wifi, if I bring my laptop to work is there anyway to bypass the server and connect directly to the internet using the ethernet that's plugged into the back of my work computer? Is there any way to get on the internet at all?

Generally not - the admins try to prevent any unauthorised access. If they're using 802.1X, you won't even be able to get a connection to the network without a security certificate on the machine.

Talk to your IT team, if you think that you've got a good reason.

Remember that it is your work's internet, and they sometimes get upset if you use it for personal purposes without permission.
