I have the fx 8320. I overclocked it to what cpuz tells me is 4635 Mhz. I tried running minecraft and I get the same 60-120 fps. I also lag spike. Did I do something wrong? Do I add voltage or something? Can I possible be bottleneck by my gpu, hd5500? FYI it's at 1.368v, 8gb ram, 600w corsair gpu

CPU overclocking will only considerably help with CPU intensive games, in others it may make no difference or maybe just a few frames. Whereas GPU overclocking will help in all with a few exceptions

I am planning to upgrade to gtx 760 msi tf soon. I don't mean this in a mean way but I am going to overclock and on this PSU. How can I stably overclock to 4.4 or 4.5? I have a m5a97 r2.0 so what to set would be helpful also will a better gpu increase fps in minecraft

Three things
A) You can probably bring the voltage down a little.
B) 60-120 FPS is plenty
C) You GPU is the problem if you want more

people here, especially sr 71 blackbird, know what their talking about. overclocking on that motherboard is not recommended, as sr 71 blackbird said it has low power phases and a bad thermal design. the power supply isnt the best either. people here aren't trying to bash your system, if anything there trying to make sure you dont blow it up. you can try to overclock, but its risking your whole computer
