Looking to update my build! Please help!

Hello!
My current build is 3 years old, going on 4. The major components of my build are:

  • AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 gHz
    4 Gb ddr3 1600 ram
    GTX 460 1GB GPU
    750 gb HDD
    OCZ 600w PSU
    Asus VH242H 1080p monitor
I'm looking to put about $500 (+/- $50) into upgrades for my build but i'm not sure what combination of items would be best. I play a lot of games (skyrim, LoL, Fallout) as well as console games on the same monitor. I also use the computer for excel spreadsheets for school, some photoshop, movies, and other general use.

I was considering upgrading my ram, getting an SSD, and a new GPU (and maybe a new keyboard) but not sure what would be best. Also, if you think there are any better options please let me know! I know my current GPU couldnt handle a 1440p screen or a 144Hz monitor but those are both appealing to me as well. Thanks so much for your help!

I'd spend all my money on G. Skill Ram 8gb [$80] and the rest on a new GPU. You could get a new 770. Then overclock the you-know-what out of the CPU. Get a CPU cooler if you don't have one already. You should be able to overclock that processor to over 4ghz. A 575W PSU is all that is needed for a GTX 770 if the 12V rail has the amperage.
