Ok heres my dilema, I am building a new HTPC (i5 3570k, Asus P8Z77i Deluxe) and I have a handful of GPU's on hand to choose from to drop in. Ok I have 2 XFX 6770's, XFX 7850 DD 2gb, and a Nvidia 8400 GS..

I have three computers to populate with these 4 GPUs, Wifes AMD FX 6300 build, the HTPC, and my kids computer Intel Q6600 (aged 2 and 4).. Heres my options as I see them FX6300 gets the 7850, and each other computer gets a 6770 and that's it. OR, the Nvidia 8400 goes in to the kids computer, the HTPC gets the 7850, and I Crossfire the 6770s in the FX.

I feel its a waste to put a 6770 in the kids computer as they only watch Netflix and play on ABCmouse.com... But my wife really doesn't game much anymore, and the HTPC is just stupid over kill no matter what...

Anyone with any thoughts it would be appreciated..

well the 8400 gs should go in the kids pc as the other gpus would be a waste due to bottlenecking
id imagine you couldnt crossfire in the htpc due to size and heat so its gets the 7850 (will it fit?)
and the fx gets the 2 6770 if the mobo can cfx them and if the psu has the size and power connections

The case is a Corsair 250D that should be delivered tomorrow, and the 7850 should have no issues fitting. I have run the 6770's in the FX, so I guess they will be going back.. Thanks you.

this is my little devil on my shoulder speaking but you could do this as well
let the kids run on integrated graphics
give your wife the 8400 since she doesnt game much any more and the 6300 needs a gpu to process video
sell the other 3 biggest baddest card you can get
sooooo evil

lol, the kids computer does not have integrated graphics (Q6600 with Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 mobo), and the wife is starting to get back into games and I am curious how well the 7850 VS the CF 6770s will fair against each other now... Gives me another project I guess..
