Hello All,
My name is Rich and I am a long time viewer, new signer upper =]p. I looked for a "Introduce Yourself" section but did not see one so I figured I would just say hi here in my first question post, so......HELLO! :)

Basically I am not what you would call a computer "Newb", but I am far far from a "Expert" and when it comes to components and their specs/compatibility I really just do not keep up enough to be of any help to myself, so I was hoping a few people would help out a bit and give me some input on the computer build I just put together and ordered, I guess I should have gotten answer BEFORE I actually ordered lol, but if I made a big enough mistake to need to return something I can always do that, and if I find out over the weekend I can actually just change the order because Amazon is awesome hehe.

So basically I use to be a REALLY big Everquest 2 player, but when my Mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer, I kinda just gave it up which was about 2 years ago. About a year ago I really wanted to start to play some games again, but some how got sucked into console gaming and had a PS3, so when the PS4 came out I thought thats what I needed, now I have a PS4 and really do not have a game selection, so I moved back towards the PC for gaming, but a gaming computer built 3 years ago really isnt up to par to what games need today. Sorry for the long post, like I said this is kind of a "Introduce Yourself" and Question post all in one, so I will go ahead and get to the question part

Because of our situation with My Dad and I both being disabled and my Mom having Stage 3 Cancer we obviously have a tight budget, so i am putting together the computer myself and I need to know/would like to know if what I have ordered will all work well together, so like I mentioned my computer was built about 3 years ago, but my PSU, Optical Drive and Hard drive are all only a few months old and are useable, so I do not need to buy new of those, but my MB only take DDR2 Ram and I wanted to upgrade to 16GB of ram and upgrade my CPU. So basically I will list what I came up with and let me know if everything looks ok, which is going to go with my current Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD SATA 6 Gb/s Hard Drive, 600W PSU and my Opticals and I have a CoolMaster CPU cooler but I was thinking about getting a Corsair Hydro Series, just to have the ability for a bit more OC options. Thanks for looking, and thanks in advance for any help.

Solution
I'd suggest getting the FX6300, and you only need 8GiB of RAM. There's very little use in getting more than DDR3-1600. Drop to the M5A97 LE R2.0 if you're not getting an aftermarket cooler.

That should free up some budget for the GPU.

Thanks, could you tell me what your opinion is on the GPU I picked? I know the GPU is one of the hardest components to get good feedback on because someone will come here and have a nVidia ATI fued going and pick one over the other because of the name on it. I really do not know the best bang for my buck, I really do not care on the brand, I care about the performance, but I have always used AMD so I have always kinda leaned towards ATI, but I was also considering THIS GPU, but I really needed my budget to be like right at $150, I know it seems like nothing to most people but the extra 30 bucks may not be possible right now, but I would try to make it work if the GeForce is the better pick.

ok well if I get the 8gb instead of 16 it will give me some room to play, so I guess I would need to keep the budget under 230 now, so which out of these 2 then? lol..note the 660 is 3gb mem

Pick 1

Pick 2

there is also THIS but again I have no idea what the difference between this one is over the other r9 I linked lol, I guess I really am a newb =]p

I had another question. I know you mentioned to just get the 6300 chip, but unfortunately the chip is the only component I really couldnt change because its been shipped already. The reason I just went with the 4350 is because everywhere I read they said quad core is all you need for gaming, quad core is all you need for gaming. So I just went with the higher clock speed and cheaper price, I guess I should have looked into it a bit more and just paid the extra 20 bucks for the 6300. Basically I want to know if the 4350 is still a descent card to have? and will I be able to overclock it fairly easy? and should I? My birthday is the 19th and my Mom and Dad knew I was building my new computer and I knew I wouldnt be able to ask them for anything really expensive due to money, but they both got me pretty cool things, my Dad got me a Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H60 and my Mom got me a EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750G 80PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V/EPS12V 750W Power Supply. Although I had a EVO 212 cooler and a I think Ultra 600W PSU. I think the gifts they got me will actually help this build out in the end.

Thanks.
