Want to upgrade motherboard model: Easy Note_BG45 1.0 CPU model: intel pentium T2390 code name: merom. I have upgraded ram to 4 mb and it started working faster. Unfortunately, laptop motherboards are custom-made for the laptop manufacturer and they do not publish CPU compatibility information. If it was a retail motherboard there would be no problem getting such information from the motherboard manufacturer.

There are only a few laptops that have soldered in CPU's. Mcintosh laptops are, but most PC laptops can have the CPU's upgraded. Check for a service manual for yours. Since your have a Merom CPU in it you will probably be limited to another Merom. Check very carefully on the compatibility in the manual. Merom laptops used a Socket M 478. It looks exactly like the Socket P 478 which was the next generation after it. A socket P CPU will fit in a Socket M but it wont work. They are wired differently. You will probably end up being able to upgrade to a Pentium T7200. This will give you a significant boost in speed. You can get them for about $25 on eBay. Another thing you will have to deal with is that these do run a little hotter, so if you can improve the heatsink at all, do that also. PS a T7250 will not work, a T7300 will not work. You are limited to a 667 mhz bus on a socket M.
