Hi,

I've just recently installed this card in an old Del' Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz with 2GB RAM.

I've installed CCC with no problems.

But the fan on the GPU seems to run really loud constantly.

Why is this?

This is what GPU-Zsoftware says.

GPU Core clock - 157mhz
GPU memory clock - 300mhz
GPU temperature - 38C
Fan speed - 35%
GPU temp 1 - 36.5C
GPU temp 2 - 39C
GPU temp 3 - 34.5C
Memory usage (dedicated) - 58MB
Nemory usage (dynamic) - 26MB
VDDC - 1.0000V
VDDC Current % OCP - 9.4%

This doesn't mean a whole lot to me, does it look okay to you?

The fan just sounds as though is running at full speed constantly by the sound of it?

Thanks for your help!!

Are you referring to a fan in the PC or the GPU?

Fans in the PC seem fine, just seems that the GPU fan is running constantly.

Like most GPU it spins fast at the start and is a little noisy but then there supposed to settle down and be quieter.

This 5770 doesn't change, it spins fast and noisy on startup and just continues all the time?

are you booting to windows? That sounds like a system that isnt posting. If it isnt booting to windows or the fan is slowing down after bootup then you need to try and update the gpu vbios or mobo bios. You can also try using software such as msi afterburner once in windows to manually slow the fans down. Other then that it sounds like a bad gpu.

Yeah it's booting to Windows 7 64bit absolutely fine. But the noise of the fan is driving me nuts.

I tried to use the CCC software to slow the fans down. I used the slider and moved it to 20% but it didn't do anything?

If it is a bad gpu fan is there anything I can do to fix it?
