What's the point of dust filters if not every fan slot is covered?

I have a Corsair Obsidian 250D for my PC chassis, and it has dust filters on the front and sides, but the rear fan slots have none. I'm not talking about just this chassis. Most cases in general seem to go half way when it comes to dust filtering the case. Does this have a purpose or are they simply trying to be cheap?

Top and rear of cases are exhausts. Meaning they blow hot air away from the case. Front, bottom and side usually pull cool are inside of the case and this air pulling also pulls dust inside of the PC.

Air Flow Example
This is for most cases the way airflow is configured. I couldn't find one with your case though (shame on you Corsair!).
