I truly need help from you guys, please give me your time. I'm tired from long hours and very little sleep on trying to find solutions.

I will give Assassin's Creed 4 coupon code for solution, please :/

Two days ago I finished my first ever PC build. For the last two days, I've been trying to troubleshoot on why my screen frequently freezes at random moments when I attempt to play a game, 3-5 minutes in a game, browsing the Web, opening multiple applications.

PC Build -
FX 6300
M5A97 R2.0
GTX 660
8Gb G Skills Ripjaws x
Corsair 500w 80 Bronze + Modular
1Tb Western Digital Blue
120gb Samsung 840 evo

Information will be long, but I would rather give every detail so I can get the best possible help, please forgive me.

On Wednesday night I finished my build, I attempted to install an Official Windows 7 Home Premium iso(no not cracked), it was to use the 30 day free trial so I can get Windows 8.1 next month. At first it wouldn't let me install onto my SSD, due to a partition error. But I went ahead and installed Windows 7 on my Western Digital with the intentions of using Samsung' data migration later. Everything went fine, I installed all available drivers with Driver Booster then double checked device manager for any other drivers. At this point I have not had any freezes.

I then proceeded to download Nvidia's latest 335.23 driver, when everything finished installing it showed me that Geforce Experience and Microsoft Framework 4 were unable to install. I then tried to install Geforce Experience on its own with no luck. Same with MS Framework 4.
Starting from then the freezes started. I uninstalled the Graphics Drivers, but the it still seem to freeze a bit even without the drivers.

I then downloaded installed the latest Bios update for my Mobo in hopes for a solution. Didn't help.

I fixed the Auto Detected Cas latency of (11) which was incorrect and changed it to what it suppose to be 8-8-8-24. Didn't do anything much.

I installed Display driver uninstalled, went into safe mode to get a full clean registry clean-up. Didn't help.

I then attempted to install the windows updates, it told it couldn't install like 5-6 updates, restarted my computer, updates didn't take into effect while it was configuring. So updates didn't install.

That was enough for that night.

Yesterday when I got home I tried a different driver, 332.21, didn't work. Still got freezes.

I then rebooted and inserted the Windows 7 CD from yesterday. Deleted and formated the hard drives. This time I was able to install Windows directly onto the SSD. All finished clean install of Windows 7. But while I was downloading some applications, it frozr. No Graphics Drivers were installed yet. Upset.

Instead of installing the driver, I tried to install Geforce Experience first, it worked. I was able to install unlike the day before. I downloaded the latest drivers once again. Everything downloaded fine. But I would still get freezes.

I've tried drivers 314.22, 331.93, 332.21, 335.23. None of then fixed the freezes.

I downloaded and ran a Pass of MemTest86, no errors.

I turned off some services that I found that worked for someone else with similar issues on forums, didn't help me.

I've checked my CPU, GPU, Mobo tempo, their not overheating and normal temps.

I downloaded Prime95, ran a test, didn't freeze.

I downloaded and ran Furmark, didn't freeze. One thing I noticed was when I ran the game Rust, I checked the clock speed through GPUZ, it was about 70 mhz over my Gigabyte GTX 660 speed @ 1167ish. I thought my GPU was overclocking itself. My clock speeds for my GPU are suppose to between 1033 I think and 1098. But in Furmark it ran 1058ish and didn't freeze.

So I came to the conclusion that I didn't think it was my CPU and GPU.

Oh I also uninstalled PhsyX due to a forum post, didn't help.

I went into my PC case, I checked if connections were in. I reseated the GPU.

I also ran the system with 1 Ram, it ran, I tried the other stick, still worked.

So I don't think it's my Ram either.

I downloaded SeaTools, and checked Samsung Magician. Both NY hard drives were in good condition and both worked.

So I'm pretty sure it can't be my drives.

I honestly think it's not my PSU either. I mean it powers my system fine, it just that my screen freezes and becomes unresponsive so I have to hard reboot.

I also don't think it's my Mobo, I mean all ports are working, CPU, GPU, Sata, Power, USB. When I was downloading the Bios update. I saw there was Motherboard drivers I think. But I haven't installed those.

I also installed the Windows Update. This time no errors 161 of 161, configured fine unlike the day before.

Also note, when I just don't do much, the PC doesn't freeze like that Windows Update, was like 2 hours long and no freezes. But once I try playing games, using the browser and open and use apps. It freezes.

My brain is fried please help me guys. I just really want my computer to work. I've been dreaming about building a PC all my life and this is not the way I would've like to go.

When I get home I'm going to try to download the motherboard drivers.
I'll also try to download driver 311.06, someone said it was stable on a forum, due it not having Geforce Experience and 3d and stuff.

I need help and Thank you for anyone who took their time to read and helped. I'm a rookie to this and never done anything like this.

Edit: Is there any possible way that Windows 7 is causing the freezes? Should I try using a different Os like SteamOs

Ok the warning signs for me are right at the start of what you have said, when Windows ouldn't install on the 840 Evo... Windows should install on the 840 Evo without issue, was it a new drive?

Also, do you have spare components you can swap in to test specific components?

The first windows install did not let me install to the SD for some reason (partition error or something, but it worked for the HDD). The second install worked with the SD.

Their both new parts, actually whole PC is.

I don't have parts to swap except on a old desktop that's like 6 years old.

Ok, well the very random nature of your crashes suggest to me a component issue (presuming you haven't overclocked yet...) - you've tested CPU, GPU, RAM independently, so from what you've said, I would suspect the PSU is at fault - you may just have had the misfortune to get a duff example, but there have been a number of people on this site with problems stemming from Corsair CX series PSUs recently. Corsair AX, TX series are much better. I would try returning the PSU and getting a different one - have a look at this list:

http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

... which usefully 'tiers' PSUs by quality. Also, get a more powerful one, just to rule out your system simply not having enough power as an issue - go for a 600W or there-abouts.

I would suspect your PSU becuase, if I read you right, everything works fine until you start playing a game, which is the point at which your PC is drawing the most power as all components are used at once - CPU, GPU, etc.

A final alternative thing to check (incase you haven't already) - just check all your cables are attached properly etc, both inside and outside the computer - it's amazing how often a seemingly weird (random) PC problem is a cable that's worked loose or similar. Also (before you return the PSU) try moving the PC to a different power socket, and using a different power-strip, if you're using one, just to eliminate those as possible factors.

Btw when you install software your best bet is this order: OS, motherboard drivers (ie the install disc that came with the mobo), then Win updates, then antivirus, then everything else. Check in System Devices to make sure all your components have installed properly

I've often read people saying you should 're-seat' the RAM, which I gues just means taking it out and putting it back in again... RAM can certainly be the cause of freezes... but I think your PSU is the most likely culprit.

Also, I read a spec for the GTX660 that said you should run it in a minmum of a 450W system - so your 500W could actually be too little, depending on the power draw of your other components - with two hard drives (and case fans?) and a relatively high power draw CPU, you could simply be running too lower a wattage PSU
