What is causing these problems?

I'm in the middle of buying a new system, and the first thing I got is a new case. As it's the BitFenix Prodigy, I had to see if my current PSU would fit (which I found that it would). So, after putting my current PC together again and turning it on, there was no signal to the monitor, but the system was booting normally as I could hear the Windows start up tune.

So after resetting it a few times and messing with the HDMI cable, it seemed to work. Now though, every time I put the computer to sleep or turn it off, it's the same story with no signal to the monitor. I checked it wasn't the monitor by using a different display and the same thing happening. I am using a 6950.

After inevitably having to put it to sleep at night, I had a battle this morning to get it all working again. While I was trying to reset it after there was clearly no signal on the monitor, the computer started turning off and on by itself. It took me to unplug it and leave it for about a minute to get it to stop. Also, the PC has reset a few times from me simply moving it back on the carpet so it wasn't sticking out from under the desk. I've never had this problem so not entirely sure why this is happening.

My first thought is PSU, which is a shame as it was the only part of my current PC I was hoping to keep. It's an OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W which I've had for about 2 years or so. It was extremely dusty, so I took the grate off and tried to remove the dust, after which the computer successfully booted, but I am still experiencing the problems stated before.

Could it be anything else?

Many thanks in advance for any help given. If it is the PSU, I'll just get another one. Not sure what the best option is for the Prodigy, given that there's not much space to put the PSU cables when inserted but I'll have a look at what other people have used.

I am actually building a mini itx haswell so I will check that. Not sure how to check that the mobo is sitting ontop of the standoffs or that the io shield isn't shorting out the mobo.

Just to update this in case somebody has the same or a similar problem.

I got a new PSU and tested it with that but the problem was still occuring, so I Googled around a bit and found a strange solution. All I did was unplug the PSU then hold down the power button for between 30 seconds and 1 minute. When I connected it again it worked just fine. Now I can go about selling it.
