Ok so my ISP is TPG and they gave me an unbelievably crap modem/router it's a Netcomm Wireless, pfft whatever the hell that is. Anyway soo this modem was soo bad with its wireless and it kept on getting worse, so bad that it got to the point where it could only have one device connected wirelessly at a time? Don't know how that happened. So yea I was so fed up, I was literally pulling my hair out over this thing and I thought NEVER AGAIN! so I bought a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 so I would never have to have any problems again. Now unfortunatley I didn't do my research well enough and I had no idea that the Nighthawk was only just a router, so there goes $230 :/  Now I still feel my internet is really bad and I am still using the Netcomm piece of crap but only as a modem, all wireless devices are connected to the Nighthawk and that seems to be working well, or I think so, I have no idea if it working at optimal conditions, It just says Network status is "Good" and that is good enough for me I guess. Anyway if I buy a good modem, will I see improvements? Because currently I am playing BF4 on xbox one and that has a wired connection to the nighthawk and the bullets are taking like 2 seconds to actually go like 100metres, its really bad and I am on a dedicated Australian server with full bar connection.

Ohh someone please help me, try to explain in lay persons terms, all these stats and stuff that I try to understand make my head hurt, I am really lost. Also if you do think I need a new modem, can u please recomend some good ones that will work well, I just don't want anymore problems I am sooooo over this crap.

Also I don't know if this is relevant but I did a speedtest and it says download speed 7.07Mbps and upload speed 0.86Mbps.

A wireless connection is basically a radio signal. There are so many things that can affect radio signal proagation that it's hard to diagnose without the proper tools. The simple solution is to use a wired connection. Contact your ISP if that doesn't get you up to speed.

aww you live in australia....internet sucks there lol. you definitly didn't need to spend 230 on a router because your internet speed is really sloooooow. so i'd take that back and get something on the 50-100 dollar range.

now here is a problem, the modem/router combination that your company gave you will act wonky if you connect it to another router. it's like connecting modem to router to another router. not the ideal scenario.

ok so try this, call your ISP and have them send you the most updated router/modem they have because you may not be able to go out on your own and purchase a modem becaues it is some sort of adsl system? it might not be compatible. you would have to call them and check and see what modem are available for purchase that are compatible with their internet system.

and i second what they other guy said, connect through a wire, a 10 dollar wire is cheaper than a 230 router
but anywy having a modem router connected to another modem router is a no go.

I have an ADSL 2+ connection sooo yea, do I still have to call my ISP? They are such assholes over the phone. But if I have to then I have to.
