Hello :)

OK it's my first time to ask here and hope for some understanding and help.

A good friend is trying to upgrade some components of his system and since apparently I'm getting too old for this (and he older) I came seeking advise..

His motherboard is this one: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3648

Three things to be upgraded if possible..
-------------
1 - memory: right now 8GB of Vengeance® — 8GB Dual Channel DDR3
http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz8gx3m2a1600c8

we want to go to 16GB.

He has some freezing while running Windows7 64 from time to time and thinks of dropping the above two for new ones (though I am not sure since they seem so nice..)

Is there a point going to Kingston HyperX and which one is better and compatible?
-------------

2 - add SSD for OS
I believe that this Samsung looks nice
http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage/MZ-7TE250BW
but any opinion as to why not is welcome..

-------------

3 - and finally graphics card
where I'm completely out..
Speccy reports

ATI AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
Manufacturer ATI
Model AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
GPU Cayman
Device ID 1002-6719
Subvendor Sapphire/PCPartner (174B)
Current Performance Level Level 0
Voltage 0.900 V
Die Size 389 mm²
Release Date Dec 15, 2010
DirectX Support 11.0
DirectX Shader Model 5.0
OpenGL Support 4.1
GPU Clock 800.0 MHz

and I know it has 4Gb of memory..

Which graphics card should we go for better than this (not extremely expensive..) and compatible?
If I'm not mistaken we're looking for PCIex16

... I feel so old..

Solution
1) Memory That Corsair RAM looks excellent! 1600 MHz, CL 8-8-8-24, 1.5 v. It would be difficult to recommend anything better.

If you suspect that the RAM may be causing the freezing, try running Memtest86 on it from a bootable CD or flash drive. If it passes Memtest86, look elsewhere for your freezing problem.

2) SSD The Samsung Evo that you have picked out is a top performer and is well reviewed. Currently the best price/performance on the market. Excellent choice!

Video Card I'll leave this one to others who are more knowledgeable than I am on the subject.

Solution
You're welcome, Nikant! Here's a bump to bring your post back to the top. If you don't get any suggestions, you may want to start a separate thread.

Where (which country) do you live?
What is your preferred place or site to shop for parts?
What is your budget for the video card?
Do you have any preference for AMD or Nvidia?
