So im planning on upgrading my computer from a Fx 6300. I was going to get a 8350 but now im thinking about a 4670k. What do you guys think i should get? I have to get a new motherboard either way because my current motherboard cant run the 8350.. Thx MSI :p  ( not their fault i should of looked into the 970a more).

Anyway I plan on playing LoL, Minecraft, BF4, Dayz, AC4, Bioshock infinite and a bunch of other games like those. Thanks!

Current build:
CPU: Fx 6300
Graphic card: asus r9 270
RAM: G.skill 8GB 2133
MB: MSI 970a G46

P.S i live near microcenter ;3

Is the 8350 a big step up in single core performance over 6300? I'm not so sure. Yes you get more cores but only a few games utilize that many. I would lean towards an i5 4670K and a good Asus Z87 mobo. Intel have better IPC performance over AMD and a quad core (without hyperthreading) is plenty to run all those games on very high settings with your R9 270.

the bundle with core i7 4770k with asus z87-a and asus z87-pro motherboards look promising. as for 4670k, same motherboards. do they fit your budget?

Your current setup is fine.

I wouldn't upgrade to a 8320 from a 6300, as you would not feel the difference most times. Same cpu with an extra module which wont be used much.

The 4670k is a strong CPU, and you will notice the difference, if it is worth the money is for you to decide.

Agreed, but not at $220 for the CPU plus more for the board. ~$350+? Not worth that much. Not over the 8320/6300. I do agree that even the CPU upgrade from the 6300 to the 8320 is dubious. OCing what he already has is probably the best bet. I'm curious as to why he thinks he can't straight upgrade to the 8320.

Why not keep the 6300 and invest in a better CPU cooler such as H90 or H100i? That way you can push your 6300 a little further. After reading a few articles on Guru3D I'm pretty sure you won't notice any difference in games between 6300 and 8350.

Chip is the same. Might as well get the 8320 and save some money. You'll be OCing either way.
