Hello everyone,

I've been thinking about getting a Motherboard Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 for an FX6300 along with Gskill Ripjaws X DDR3-2133MHz 2x4GB just because it is only 3€ more than the 1600MHz version BUT on the motherboard specs it says:
Supports Memory DDR3 2100+(OC)/1866*(OC)/1800*(OC)/1600*(OC)/1333/1066/800 no-ECC, without-buffer (translated)

I want to know if: 1st, what happens if it does not support it 100%? 2nd, The OC means CPU OC or memory OC? 3rd, is it even a good board for the budget?

Thanks and have a nice day

You can overclock to use 2100+(OC) by increasing the Nouth Bridge Frequency Configuration to 2400MHz from 2200MHz.
Adjusting the HT reference clock will increase the clock speed of most key components in the system. This includes
CPU core clock, CPU NB clock (Memory controller), Memory clock and HT clock frequency. Almost all the clocks are based on the HT reference clock (200MHz by default).
